Our driver guide will pick you in the morning from Entebbe Internal Airport and take you to Lake Bunyonyi, according to the BBC one of the prettiest lakes in the world, its 9 hour drive includes one hour lunch break or a stop over at Equator on the way. Dinner and overnight at Kyahugye Island or Keije Resort.
This is your day to try out dugout canoeing and traverse the giraffe-shaped lake; the feeling that you are floating in a tree trunk on 10,000 years An upwards hike of about 30 minutes is your next program item. At a trading Centre you will be invited to a cup of the local sorghum brew, obushera. (It is going to be unforgettable.) Later you will meet Mr. Barara, a traditional healer, who will share some carefully chosen secrets of tropical highland flora. Feel free to ask about any medical issues you (or your friends)might have. Lake Bunyonyi is 29 islands and the distant Virunga volcanoes. You will hear the colorful tales, legends and historical facts related to the islands. By lunch time Mrs. Anna, a craft maker will have prepared a big meal for her family and you! Beans, sweet and Irish potatoes, ground nuts and dodo (local spinach) will make for a filling treat. Anna will then show you how crafts are hand produced, and give you an opportunity to make some yourself. And, no, this is not for ladies only! A downhill trek will reunite you with the canoes, with a 30-minute canoe ride to Kyahugye Island or Keije Resort for the dinner and overnight.
Batwa Today is probably the most respectful way to pay a visit to the Batwa “Pygmies”, the ancient peoples of the Kigezi Highlands region. Our partners will show you the boundary of their ancestral home, the forest of Echuya, and their current settlement with spectacular vistas of Lake Bunyonyi. Echuya Forest one needs another hour or two to Ruhija. This Bwindi gate is is quieter than the other sectors and in close proximity to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ruhija Community Rest Camp will be your place for tonight. You will experience a unique blend of comfort environmental responsibility with accommodations designed to harmonies with the landscapes. The lodge actively engages with the local community, fostering cultural experiences.
There are three habituated gorillas families in Ruhija and you will have one permit booked to see one of them. Mind you, the trek to the gorillas can take up between 2 to 6 hours, and then you have the right to spend 1 hour with them. Ruhija Community Rest Camp will be your place for tonight. You will experience a unique blend of comfort and environmental responsibility, with accommodations designed to harmonies with the landscapes. You should expect to need just a couple of hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park Soon after reaching Enjojo Lodge you will proceed to the southern sector of the park, Ishasha, attempting to find the rare tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth NP park south. The Ranger guide will help to locate the lions; but even with this expert assistance nothing is guaranteed! Enjojo Lodge has many accommodation options, and in this case we are choosing self-contained/Safari tents positioned in a circle round lovely common bathrooms. This is on full-board basis because clients don’t have any other meal option, however, B&B pricing is available.
You will be driven to much more widely known northern side of the national park, a 4-hour to Queen Elizabeth NP park entry attraction of the park’s north is the so-called launch cruise, a boat safari. It allows you to come very close to a variety of animals drinking the water of Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George, you will get an opportunity to witness the traditional way of producing salt. Women are not allowed to enter the lake to harvest while men have to wear condoms to protect their private parts! explosion craters are a sight to behold. Your night will be spent at Bush Lodge on full board.
The car will be at your service to take you anywhere in the park for further explorations For your second day in the north of QENP we can suggest Kyambura Gorge, a truly gorgeous sector that is famous for the its well-populated underground riparian forest, cutting into the savannah with a river flowing through. Five species of primates reside here: chimpanzees, olive baboons, black and white colobuses, red-tailed and vervet monkeys. your second night at Bush Lodge.
The car will be at your service to take you any where with in the park for further explorations. May be you would wish to check on Maramagambo Forest, another fascinating part of the national park or Lake Katwe and Bunyampaka salt Lakes. Your 3rd night at Bush Lodge.
It will take you 2 to 3 hours to reach Kibale Forest National Park. The forest is a sanctuary for over 1,500chimpanzees, making it one of the best places to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. Beyond chimpanzees, the park boasts 12 other primate species, various bird species, and diverse range of flora.
Kibale Forest Camp provides a range of lodging options, from spacious safari tents to cozy cottages. We’ve chosen a cottage for you for now, on a( FB) basis.
On the way to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Wildlife Ranch (about 5 hours on the road) there will be one cultural activity: Mparo Royal Tombs is your invitation to step into Uganda’s alternate history. See the last paragraph of our “Africa’s Secret History” article. What if King Kabalega didn’t fight the British? Would the capital of the country be in today’s Hoima instead of Kampala? Would it be called Uganda at all? But Kabalega resisted European occupation and lost. On the way is a sanctuary where rhinos are being prepared to be reintroduced to the wild. You are going to be taken for a walk to see these beasts. The ranch includes a lodge, and this is where you will enjoy your night on Full board.
At 6am you will embark on early morning journey to spot shoebill storks. Ziwa is one of those rare places where you can be pretty sure to see them! you are left with 3 transit hours to the entrance of Murchison Falls NP park entry. You won’t get a compete idea of the Nile’s might until you pass via to the top of of the Murchison Falls. However, it makes sense to see it from the bottom too While you will certainly appreciate animals on the river, the falls are the main reason we are adding another boat, cottage will be booked for you at Fort Murchison on the other side of the Nile on full board.
The car will take you back into the park Murchison Falls NP park exit via Masindi town will explore the park on a safari to spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, lions, bird species and later you will proceed to Via via Hotel in Entebbe for the overnight.
After breakfast you will go to the (UWEC) Uganda Wildlife Education Center followed by the botanical gardens," is a garden with a documented collection of living plants for the purpose of scientific research, conservation, display, and education. Typically plants are labeled with their botanical names. It may contain specialist plant collections such as cacti and other succulent. Later you will enjoy a lunch break at Face 3 Hotel from here it takes less than 30 minutes drive to Entebbe International Airport for your evening flight back home and end the trip.
